Description of Internet
The infrastructure for Internet consists of a campus network connected directly to the Deutsche Telekom Internet backbone via several high-performance connections with gigabit data throughput rates. All leased line services offered are connected to this network via Ethernet switching technology and represent a complete package including the line connection to your stand, unlimited online time and unlimited data transfer volumes (flat rate).
The connection label for your Internet connection is via PPPoE. A preconfigured DSL router with four RJ45 LAN ports is provided, allowing you to hook up your equipment to the network. DHCP (private pool) is used to assign the IP addresses on the LAN. If you do not wish to use this router, you can use an RJ45 interface (UR2) to connect. In this case we will be happy to provide you with the necessary access data (user name and password) on request.
Description of Internet Pro
The infrastructure for the Internet leased line service consists of a campus network connected directly to the Deutsche Telekom Internet backbone via several high performance connections with gigabit data throughput rates. All leased line services offered are connected to this network via Ethernet switching technology and represent a complete package including the line connection to your stand, unlimited online time and unlimited data transfer volumes.
Additional IP ports /Additional switches
Only one customer interface (one port) is provided per leased line. If you wish to connect additional end devices without needing to set up your own active network components, we can offer you activation of additional ports for existing terminal units or switches, or additional switches with RJ45 connection ports.
Security and service
Deutsche Messe and its service providers strive to provide the campus network with a high fail-safe level adapted to the unique requirements of each event. We cannot however assure 100% Internet availability or guarantee a particular throughput bandwidth. Similarly, Deutsche Messe and its service providers have no influence over Internet routing behaviour or provider performance at the respective interface points or behind them.
Network stability and performance nevertheless enjoy the highest priority. For that reason a central network management system monitors the IP network on the Exhibition Grounds, allowing for network malfunctions to be immediately detected and eliminated by qualified WAN and LAN specialists.
Important: Please be explicitly advised that all of the Internet connections available involve fully transparent access. You may only connect end devices whose operation excludes any adverse effects on the Internet platform. Be sure to comply with the manufacturer's latest recommendations regarding service and security levels, as well as taking all the other necessary precautions.
The Internet service provider (ISP) reserves the right to disconnect ports and sockets or complete connections from the network if the connected end devices endanger fault-free operation of the platform. This will occur approximately 30 minutes after you receive a telephone request to eliminate the fault. If the operational capability of the Internet platform is in severe jeopardy, the connection may be switched off without prior notice.
Legal stipulations
The user is obligated to adhere to the following regulations:
(aa) Any misuse of the Internet is prohibited, particularly in the following cases:
- It is prohibited to send unsolicited e-mails to outside parties for advertising
purposes (mail spamming); it is likewise prohibited to send news for advertising

- It is prohibited to send threatening or harassing messages.
(bb) It is prohibited to transmit any threatening or harassing information as well as any information with illegal or indecent content to random communication partners or allude to such information. This includes above all information which serves the purpose of incitement to hatred as defined by articles 130, 130a and 131 of the German Penal Code (Strafgesetzbuch) or incitement to crime or the glorification or trivialization of violence or information which is sexually offensive or pornographic in nature as defined by Article 184 of the German Penal Code or which exhibits the potential to jeopardize the morals or endanger the well-being of children or youth or which could harm the reputation of T-Systems. The same applies to the infringement of third party rights, in particular patent, copyright, trademark, ancillary copyright or trademark rights.
(cc) The statutory provisions applicable to teleservices or media services, in particular the information obligations regulated therein, shall be observed.
